Chrysler, a brand emblematic of American ingenuity and automotive excellence, is boldly advancing into an electrified future. With significant investments in electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrids, Chrysler is poised to transform its lineup and uphold its legacy of innovation. Let's explore the exciting new developments at Chrysler.
Chrysler's Electrifying New Releases
Stellantis recently unveiled two exciting new models for 2025, reinforcing its commitment to electrification and performance. In line with this commitment, Stellantis is making significant investments in its Michigan plants to expand their EV and hybrid offerings.
Dodge Hornet Hybrid Compact SUV
The Dodge Hornet marks a historic step for the brand as its first electrified performance vehicle. It comes in four models—GT, G/T Plus, R/T, and R/T Plus—with a variety of exterior colors and interior options to choose from. For 2025, new features include steering wheel paddle shifters for the Hornet GT and GT Plus as part of the Track Pack option. Additionally, there is an optional one-day session at Radford Racing School, the official high-performance driving school of Dodge//SRT. To support these advancements, the Warren Truck Assembly Plant is undergoing enhancements to facilitate the production of electrified vehicles.
Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid SUV
The 2025 Chrysler Pacifica continues to set the standard for minivans, offering unmatched versatility, safety, and convenience. Key features include available all-wheel-drive (AWD) capability paired with the Stow 'n Go seating and storage system, as well as the most standard safety features in its class, such as forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go.
New for 2025, the Pacifica introduces simplified trim levels with Select, Limited, and Pinnacle models. The Standard S Appearance is available on Limited and optional on Plug-in Hybrid Select with the Premium Group. Additional standard features now include an auto-dimming rearview mirror, second-row one-touch windows, and premium carpets. The Pacifica is powered by a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, delivering 287 horsepower and 262 pounds-feet of torque. The plug-in hybrid variant offers a combined system output of 260 hp and an all-electric range of up to 32 miles. Enhancements at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant are underway to accommodate these new hybrid and EV models.
The REV and Ramcharger: A Glimpse into the Future
Chrysler's commitment to electrification is further exemplified by the upcoming REV and Ramcharger models. The REV, set to launch late this year, will be Chrysler's first fully electric vehicle built in the United States. The Ramcharger is an extended-range vehicle that operates on a battery paired with an onboard gas generator. To support their future production, Stellantis is investing $73 million in the Dundee Engine Plant to retool the factory for battery tray production for the STLA Frame vehicle platforms. This plant will also machine front and rear beams for the STLA Large platforms, with production starting this year and ramping up in 2026. Additionally, the Dundee plant will produce the GME-T4 engine later this year and a new 1.6-liter, inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine with direct fuel injection, designed for hybrids, set to launch in 2025.
