What is the difference between a truck and a pickup?

A truck is a larger category of vehicles that hauls heavy materials and cargo. It includes tankers, flatbeds, and semi-trailers. Due to its large size, trucks typically require a special professional license to drive.

The phrase "pickup" is used for a vehicle, or truck, with a separate cab and an open bed for cargo. It does not require a special professional license to drive. For consumers, the terms "truck," "pickup," and "pickup truck" are used interchangeably.

What is towing capacity?

Towing capacity for a vehicle is the amount of weight which can be safely pulled with a trailer. Additional equipment is often needed, such as a gooseneck hitch. The following shows the maximum towing capacity for different Ram trucks.
