For the 2017 model year, Jeep added a Trailhawk trim to the Grand Cherokee line-up. Meant to represent the enhanced off-road version of the mid-size crossover SUV, the Trailhawk rides on Kevlar-reinforced tires; and it has the Quadra-Drive II four-wheel (4x4) drivetrain, an air suspension, an electronic limited-slip differential, skid plates, hill ascent and hill descent control, and black leather trim in the cabin. Additionally, you can read suspension stats on its 8.4-inch touchscreen. And for the first time in this production cycle (the Grand Cherokee’s fourth), the rear camera is standard on the base-level Laredo.

Front-seat heating capability appears once you upgrade to the 75th Anniversary Edition. Second-seat heating capability is added if you go another step up—to the Limited; it also comes with leather seat trim. Go with the Overland, High Altitude, Summit, or SRT if you also want cooling capability on the front seats. And go with a 75th Anniversary variant if you favor black-and-beige leather-trimmed seats with tangerine accents. For comfort and convenience, the 2017 Grand Cherokee comes with dual-zone automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, Bluetooth® for hands-free phone operation and audio streaming, steering wheel-mounted controls, a flash memory card slot, and a six-speaker stereo system with a 5-inch touchscreen. Upper-level additions and enhancements include a navigation system, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, a universal transceiver for remote-controlling garage doors, auto-dimming on the rearview mirror, a power moon roof, and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system. Safety features include electronic vehicle stability, all-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, hill start assist, and nine airbags. Blind spot monitoring is added on the 75th Anniversary variants.
